Athletics Vanuatu will host the National Athletics Championship this week, bringing together student athletes from across the country.

The two-day competition is scheduled for Thursday 17 and Friday 18 April 2025 at Korman Stadium in Port Vila.

The championship will feature student athletes from various provinces competing in a range of track and field events, aimed at identifying top talents to represent Vanuatu in future national and international competitions.

According to Athletics Vanuatu, all participating athletes have arrived in Port Vila and are eager to take part in the event.

The championship will include age categories from 10 to 20 years, across both boys’ and girls’ divisions. Events scheduled include the 60m, 100m, 200m, and 400m races, as well as preliminary rounds in Javelin, Shot Put, Long Jump, and the Marathon.

Competition will run daily from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Athletics Vanuatu is calling on parents and the general public to come and show their support over the two days, as the event also serves as a key preparation stage for the upcoming National Secondary School Games and future national training camps.
