Former Speaker of Parliament and former Member of Parliament for Epi Constituency, Simion Seule, has formally apologised to the Malvatumauri Council of Chiefs.
He apologised for an act of theft he committed while serving in Parliament, in which he took a government vehicle during his time as Minister for Youth and Sports in 2018.
Today, Simion Seule delivered his apology in front of the President of the Malvatumauri Council of Chiefs, Chief Paul Robert Ravun, and other chiefs who were present at the time.
The President of the Malvatumauri Council accepted Simion Seule’s apology and said that the Nakamal of the Chiefs is the right place to address and correct such behaviour.
Chief Paul Robert Ravun called on chiefs to take responsibility in correcting the behaviour of their people through the Nakamal.
Chief Ravun also told the Department of Correctional Services that bringing individuals to apologise before the Malvatumauri should be applied to others as well.
