The Grand Final of the VFF Women’s Champions League is set to kick off this Saturday at the VFF Freshwota Stadium, with Tafea FC taking on Penama Tigers FC at 3PM.
This crucial match will determine which club will represent Vanuatu in the next OFC Women’s Champions League.
Penama Tigers FC enter the final as defending champions, after defeating Tafea FC in last year’s championship. However, Tafea FC go into the final with confidence, having beaten the Tigers during Round 2 of this year’s tournament.
Both clubs secured their spots in the Grand Final after topping the points table at the end of the round-robin matches.
Penama Tigers FC captain, Annie Rose Gere, said the team is ready and motivated for the big match.
“I’m happy with our performance — we tried our best with what our coach taught us. This win is all about teamwork. Yes, we made mistakes, but we’ve learned from them and are ready to improve.”
Fans are encouraged to come in numbers to support women’s football and the players who will take the field in this exciting Grand Final showdown.
