The national friendly match will kick off at exactly 3:00pm this Saturday at the VFF Stadium, and both teams are calling on football supporters to come out and enjoy the first football match of the year.

Vanuatu Team B, which was seen in action during the national friendly matches over the weekend, has begun its final training sessions this week after receiving a short-notice call to face Vanuatu United FC. The request came from Vanuatu United FC authorities, who were seeking a friendly match against a professional Vanuatu club before departing for New Zealand next week.

The call confirmed that Vanuatu Team B was on standby to take on the task of providing a strong challenge to Vanuatu United FC ahead of their exposure to real regional competition. The friendly match forms part of Vanuatu United FC’s preparation for professional football, as well as for the domestic league season.

Training sessions held on Tuesday and Wednesday this week saw all selected Team B players turning up and showing readiness for the important match. The squad features several experienced players, including Jean Kaltak, Rodney, Milla Loloa, and Richard Waisele, alongside players who recently competed in the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup in Papua New Guinea.

Vanuatu Team B is led by coach Michel Kalo, supported by his assistant coaches, and the coaching staff is confident the team will put up a strong performance against the professional club. The match is expected to help Vanuatu United FC prepare for their inaugural OFC Pro League fixture against Fiji’s Ba FC.
