Vanuatu has proudly claimed three medals this month at the CrossFit Masters League held in Brisbane, Australia.
The competition saw Jackie Potgieter win a bronze medal, while Andrew Bohn and Scott Monteiro each took home silver medals.
CrossFit, a growing sport in Vanuatu, continues to gain attention as local athletes make their mark on the international stage. The CrossFit Masters League, which wrapped up this month, marked its ninth season, bringing together some of the toughest competitors from across Oceania.
Reports say that despite the blood, sweat, and tears, Vanuatu can stand proud with three athletes raising the nation’s flag high in Brisbane — representing not only Vanuatu but the entire Oceania region.
Jackie Potgieter took home the bronze in the 50–54 age category, Andrew Bohn earned silver in the 40–44 division, and Scott Monteiro also secured silver in the 45–49 division.
Speaking after the event, Andrew Bohn thanked everyone who has supported CrossFit in Vanuatu over the past year.
“We’re grateful for the support from back home , this is just the beginning for CrossFit Vanuatu,” Bohn said.
The CrossFit Masters League competition will return next year, and Vanuatu’s athletes are already preparing to build on this success.
