The Speaker of Parliament, Stephen Dorrick Felix, is currently serving as Acting President of the Republic while the Head of State is overseas.

President Nikenike Vurobaravu left the country today to undergo medical treatment in South Korea.

Under Article 37 of the Constitution, the Speaker of Parliament is mandated to perform the functions of the President when the President is outside the country.

VBTC News understands that President Vurobaravu is expected to return to Vanuatu before the end of this month.
