President Maltock Launches Oceania’s First-Ever Professional Football League

Vanuatu Football Federation (VFF) President, who is also the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) President and FIFA Vice President, Lambert Maltock, has officially launched the first-ever OFC Professional League in Oceania.

The historic event took place this week, with the official soft opening held last night at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand.

The ceremony brought together major football leaders and officials from across Oceania to witness the milestone launch, marking a new era for football in the region.

Eight clubs representing seven nations have been selected to compete in the inaugural OFC Professional League, which will kick off next year.

During the event, coaches and CEOs of the participating clubs were also present and shared positive feedback about the establishment of the region’s first professional football league.

In his address, OFC President Lambert Maltock said the launch at Eden Park represents a turning point that will reshape the landscape of football in Oceania forever.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulated Maltock and all OFC member association presidents for their effort and commitment, saying the professional league will elevate football in Oceania to the global stage.

The OFC Pro League is set to kick off on January 17 next year, featuring the following eight clubs:

  • Auckland FC (New Zealand)
  • Bula FC (Fiji)
  • Hekari United FC (Papua New Guinea)
  • Solomon King FC (Solomon Islands)
  • South Island United FC (New Zealand)
  • South Melbourne FC (Australia)
  • Tahiti United FC (Tahiti)
  • Vanuatu United FC (Vanuatu)
