The verification process for the results of the July 8th provincial elections is currently ongoing, according to the Vanuatu Electoral Commission.

Chairman of the Commission confirmed to VBTC News that results for Tafea and Shefa Provinces, including the Freshwater/Tasiriki Ward in Port Vila, have already been reviewed and verified.

This week, the Commission is expected to proceed with verification for Malampa, Penama, and Santo constituencies.

Although the Electoral Commission has not released an official date for the declaration of final results, VBTC understands that the announcements are expected before the end of the week.

Once the results are officially declared, provincial offices in Penama, Malampa, Shefa, and Tafea will be able to issue formal notices for the first council meetings with newly elected councillors.
