Vanuatu Expands Overseas Passport Enrolment Program

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, through the Department of Vanuatu Immigration and Passport Services, has confirmed that passport enrolment for Ni-Vanuatu citizens living overseas is progressing well.

During a recent visit to New Caledonia last week, Vanuatu officers successfully enrolled 86 individuals and collected more than VT 1.5 million in passport fees.

The department’s biometric passport system — also operational in Hong Kong and Dubai — allows Ni-Vanuatu abroad to access secure, efficient passport services that meet international standards.

Director of Immigration and Passport Services, Jeffrey Markson, said the initiative forms part of the government’s broader plan to make passport enrolment quicker and safer for all citizens, regardless of where they live.

He added that the overseas enrolment program demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving access to essential national services for Ni-Vanuatu communities around the world.
