Speaking to VBTC Sports, President of the Vanuatu Football Federation, Lambert Maltok, confirmed the announcement.

“After a long time on our bid I am glad to announce that Vanuatu is inside the 8 professional clubs that the OFC will take part in the 2026 professional league, so I acknowledge all who took part in this bid,” Maltok said.

The eight confirmed clubs are: Bula Boys FC (Fiji), Hekari United FC (Papua New Guinea), Solomon Kings FC (Solomon Islands), Tahiti United FC (Tahiti), Auckland FC (New Zealand), Christchurch FC (New Zealand), South Melbourne FC (Australia), and Vanuatu FC (Vanuatu).

The OFC Professional League will see the clubs compete in a five-circuit series across different Pacific locations, with the overall winner earning a place at the FIFA Club World Cup in 2029.

The official launch of the Professional League will take place on 29 October 2025 in Auckland, New Zealand.
