Passengers arriving or departing from Bauerfield International Airport can now enjoy shorter wait times, with a new My Vanuatu VIP Airport Priority Lane promising to cut queues by up to 45 minutes.
The initiative was officially launched yesterday by the Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO), in partnership with My Vanuatu. It marks a major upgrade in airport services and positions Vanuatu as a destination offering world-class convenience from the very first welcome to the final farewell.
VTO CEO, Adela Issachar Aru, said the lane is about more than faster processing it is about setting a new standard in hospitality.
“Remember Vanuatu is not just an island destination in the Pacific we are a tourism destination in the world, and it is our duty to collaborate and promote Vanuatu as the premier destination globally,” she said.
The VIP lane includes personalized welcomes, dedicated airport staff, and priority immigration clearance, reducing long waits that have often frustrated visitors. The service mirrors what is already available in other regional hubs such as Fiji, but with a uniquely Vanuatu touch.
Ignite Travel Group’s Product Development Director, Mark Ferszt, said the service would strengthen the visitor experience and increase passenger arrivals.
“We aim to bring more than 10,000 passengers from Australia over the next five years, plus growing numbers from New Zealand and cruise markets,” he said.
The partnership is also expected to benefit local communities, with more high-value travelers choosing Vanuatu. By easing the arrival process, the lane allows visitors to spend more time enjoying the islands’ resorts, culture, and hospitality the very experiences that define “Vanuatu moments.”
