Autopsy Conducted on East Santo Man; Police Await Final Results

The Commander of CID in Sanma has confirmed that an autopsy has been conducted on the body of the man who died at the beginning of last month in Bene Village, East Santo.

The autopsy has already taken place on the body of the 39-year-old man who passed away last month in his village of Bene in East Santo.

Commander CID Sanma, Afremend Kender, told VBTC News the autopsy was carried out over the weekend to identify the exact cause of death.

“For the doctor to perform the autopsy is to justify what exactly caused the infection inside him and led to him losing his life.”

He confirmed that the findings are not yet completed, as some samples must be sent to Australia for further testing before a final report can be provided.

“The findings are not yet completed because they must take some samples back to the lab and then send results back.”

Police will conduct interviews with witnesses and some community members this week while awaiting the final autopsy report.

Commander Kender said it is a challenge to wait a long time for autopsy results, as delays can affect evidence or important information that could help the police investigation.

“So we don’t have special doctors like this to confirm the death, so the community must work together.”

Police are calling on the Bene community to work with them to identify the person responsible for the death.
