Vanuatu Women’s Team Arrives in Fiji for OFC Nations Cup 2025

The Vanuatu Women’s Football Team is now in Suva, Fiji, preparing to compete in the 13th edition of the OFC Women’s Nations Cup 2025 — the premier women’s football competition for the Oceania region.

This year’s tournament runs from 4 to 19 July, bringing together eight teams under one confederation to battle for regional glory.

Match Day 1 (Thursday, 4 July) will open with Tahiti vs Cook Islands, followed by Papua New Guinea vs Samoa.

Vanuatu’s first match is scheduled for Saturday, 5 July, when they take on Tonga, while hosts Fiji will face the Solomon Islands in the second match of the day.

After landing in Suva earlier this week, the Vanuatu team kicked off their training sessions under Head Coach Robert Yalou, as they prepare for what’s expected to be a highly competitive group stage.

Vanuatu has been drawn into a challenging pool, alongside hosts Fiji, Solomon Islands, and a rising Tongan team — making it a tightly contested group where every point will count.

In the last edition, Vanuatu narrowly missed out on the quarterfinals after Tahiti advanced ahead of them.

This year, all participating nations are determined to make a stronger showing, with Papua New Guinea returning as the defending champions, having defeated Fiji 2–1 in the 2022 final.

With matches kicking off this week, fans across the Pacific will be closely watching to see who rises to the top in the 2025 OFC Women’s Nations Cup.
