Vanuatu joined countries around the world today to celebrate World Teachers’ Day 2025, honoring teachers who work to build a strong and safe future for children.
A march took place at Saralana Park to kick off the celebration. This year’s theme is: “Together for Teachers, Together for Tomorrow.”
Secretary General of the Vanuatu Teachers Union, Johnathan Yonah, emphasized the importance of prioritizing students and working together with teachers.
“Many of us lost the passion to teach, but there aren’t anymore to build the future of the kids , it is the teachers,” Yonah said.
World Teachers’ Day is observed annually on October 5, and this year it fell on a Sunday, allowing teachers to celebrate and reflect on their role in imparting knowledge, skills, and values to students.
