The Vanuatu Electoral Office (VEO) has announced the official timeline for the upcoming provincial by-elections scheduled for July 8, 2025.

The by-elections will be held in two constituencies: Santo and Freswota-Tasiriki. As part of preparations, the VEO has laid out key dates to ensure voters and candidates are informed of the process.

The inspection of eligible voters will conclude on May 13, while voter registration will remain open until May 27.

Candidate applications will open on May 7 and close on May 17. A list of qualified candidates will be published on June 23, marking the official start of the campaign period, which will run until midnight on July 5.

The Electoral Office urges all eligible citizens to participate actively and ensure their voter information is up to date ahead of the elections.
