The Teaching Service Commission (TSC) has a new Chairman — former Director General of the Ministry of Education, Jessy Dick.

Mr. Dick received his appointment letter during a short ceremony yesterday afternoon at the office of the Minister of Education.

Out of more than 30 applicants for the position, Education Minister Simil Johnson said Mr. Dick was selected for his extensive experience in the education sector.

Minister Simil Johnson:
“He has worked a lot as a DG, and I congratulate him on his appointment. The Ministry of Education is proud to welcome him to further strengthen this sector.”

The new TSC Chairman said his top priority will be to focus on the welfare of teachers.

Jessy Dick:
“I keep thinking about the children — we must work with them. As I said, teachers are the key, and we must look after them properly and ensure they are well cared for.”

Mr. Dick takes over the role from outgoing Acting Chairlady, Alice Kaloran.
