People of East Ambae in Saratamata witnessed the official opening of the new Ministry of Finance and Economic Management office in their area today.

This move is part of the government’s decentralisation program to bring services closer to the people.

September 12 marks the official opening of the new branch office of the Ministry of Finance in East Ambae, located in Saratamata.

In his official speech at the opening, the Minister responsible for Finance, Hon. Johnny Koanapo, said many finance services that people in the area used to travel far for are now accessible at their doorstep. He also noted that the construction faced many challenges since the government did the groundbreaking in 2020, and today they are finally able to open the office.

Hon. Xavier Harry, the Minister responsible for infrastructure, said people in East Ambae must make good use of this new access to government services.

The government invested VT28.7 million in the construction, which is now complete and ready for finance operations.
