For over 10 years, the Vanuatu Table Tennis Federation is seeing a refresh of its gear thanks to a generous donation from a small local business.
Bountifull Tours and Transfers, a Port Vila-based company operating for the past eight years, made the historic gesture yesterday by handing over brand-new equipment to veteran table tennis player, Anolyn Lulu, on behalf of the federation.
The donation includes table tennis nets, bats, balls, and net stands a full set of basic gear that will help revive training programs and outreach activities.
Speaking on behalf of the business, staff member Stephane Breton said they were happy to give back to a sport like table tennis, which has brought pride to the nation through multiple regional medals.
“We trust that this equipment will support the Federation’s future programs, especially to reach more young people and schools,” Breton said.
Receiving the donation, Anolyn Lulu expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Table Tennis Federation.
“It’s been over 10 years since we last received equipment like this. We are so thankful. These new materials will bring new energy to our outreach programs especially in schools and small communities,” Lulu said.
The donation marks a new chapter for table tennis in Vanuatu, one of the country’s leading sports. With better gear now in hand, the Federation plans to expand its reach and encourage more youth participation across the islands.
