Four Teams Set for VCH Cup Semifinal Showdowns This Weekend

Tafea FC, Erakor Golden Star FC, iCount Yatel FC, and North Efate United FC are the semifinalists vying for a place in the historic grand final, which will be held on 23 August to mark Vila Central Hospital’s 50th Golden Jubilee.

The semifinals will take place this Saturday at the Port Vila Municipal Stadium, with the first match kicking off at 12pm between Tafea and Erakor Golden Star. This match will be one to watch, as Tafea’s Tony Kaltack and Kalver Kaltack will come up against their former club, Erakor Golden Star — a meeting that promises plenty of intensity.

At 2pm, iCount Yatel will take on North Efate United in the second semifinal. iCount Yatel, last season’s double cup winners, are looking to continue their winning momentum and secure a spot in yet another final.

Port Vila Football Association (PVFA) President Harry Atison has called on all football fans to turn out in numbers to support the teams this weekend.

The winners of Saturday’s matches will meet in the VCH Cup Grand Final on 23 August — a match that will not only crown the first champions of this new tournament but also celebrate half a century of service by Vila Central Hospital.
