The 2025 OFC Women’s Nations Cup officially kicked off today in Fiji, with eight teams from across Oceania competing for a spot in the next qualifying stage.
This year’s tournament is expected to be a strong challenge for all participating nations, as they aim to follow in the footsteps of New Zealand, who have already qualified.
Papua New Guinea enters the competition as defending champions, after winning the 2021 edition of the Nations Cup.
Speaking to the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), Vanuatu captain Brenda Anis acknowledged the challenges ahead, but said the team is focused on giving their best and aiming for a strong start.
“There are some challenges, but our goal is to do our best and win our first match,” said Anis.

- Tahiti faced Cook Islands at 12PM
- PNG played Samoa at 3PM
Vanuatu’s first match will be against Tonga tomorrow at 12PM.
