Vanuatu Gideons Set to Face Fiji in OFC Futsal Clash

The Vanuatu Gideons Futsal team will meet host nation Fiji this Saturday, September 20, at Vodafone Arena, Suva, in their opening match of the OFC Futsal Cup.

With new head coach Tito Quai now leading the team, the main goal is to lift Vanuatu’s current Oceania futsal ranking from 5th place and push the Gideons further up the table.

The squad, which includes both experienced players and new talents, has been training hard in Fiji since earlier this week. The boys have gone through intense fitness checks and sessions at Vodafone Arena to prepare for the competition.

The tournament will see New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu battle it out for top spot in Oceania futsal.

VBTC Sports understands a joint press conference between Vanuatu and Fiji was held earlier today, setting the stage for tomorrow’s clash.

Coach Tito Quai says his focus is on improvement and performance, ensuring the Gideons deliver strong results that can boost Vanuatu’s regional futsal reputation.

The Vanuatu vs Fiji match kicks off at 7pm Saturday at Vodafone Arena.
