Closing ceremony of the 10 days training at Cook Barracks not long ago, between the firefighters of Vanuatu and the instructors from France.
It is a training where people from Dumbea in New Caledonia came to give some technique to the firefighters of Vanuatu which they can use during disasters.
In this training, the firefighters of Vanuatu learned many new techniques in fighting fire, ways to save lives during disasters, and teamwork.
Officer in charge of the fire service unit, Willi Kapsam, said the partnership that Vanuatu has with France is to help Vanuatu with new updates and training for Vanuatu Firefighters to help the community be safer.
Minister of Internal Affairs, Andrew Napuat, said France is a country that stands with Vanuatu during disaster times. With the challenges that Vanuatu is facing with fire, France has come forward to assist Vanuatu through the partnership that the two countries have to stand together during a disaster.
One of the firefighters, Ase Rara Lulu, said that in the 10 days training they learned many new techniques.
Over 10 firefighters of Vanuatu received certificates to mark the end of their training.
