Margaret Song has made her second appearance in Australia this week, competing in para powerlifting in Brisbane.

Song is the first Ni-Vanuatu para athlete to represent the country in this sporting discipline, marking an important step for inclusion in sports.

“The exercise and training is tough, so this is my second time going. But in Vanuatu, this is the first time for a para athlete through the VCC, and I am excited to be part of this sport. Through this, I get to travel the world and see and experience places,” Song said.

Her journey not only highlights personal achievement but also opens the door for more para athletes in Vanuatu to participate in international competitions.
