A suspect arrested in Santo allegedly in relation to the airport robbery has arrived in Port Vila around 11am today.

Under tight security Police vehicles were on standby at the tarmac where the suspect was taken from the plane straight to Police station where he is currently in Police custody. 

The vehicle was escorted by a long line of police convoy with attempts to prevent the public from taking photos and videos.

Police have not yet released any official updates on the case, despite media reports that several other arrests have already been made.

The Police Media Unit said the case is serious, and the Police Commission is expected to provide further updates later this week.

The airport robbery is the first of its kind in the country, and authorities are treating it as a sensitive case.
