Mystery Island in Aneityum continues to rank among the best cruise destinations in the Pacific, welcoming thousands of visitors each year.
Vanuatu Tourism Office Chief Executive Officer, Adela Aru, told VBTC News that Mystery Island remains highly rated because of the unique experience it offers cruise passengers.
She said the island appeals strongly to visitors looking for a tropical paradise during their cruise holidays, with its white sandy beaches, clear waters, and untouched natural environment.
“Mystery Island continues to be rated as one of the top cruise destinations in the Pacific because it offers a green, mysterious and fantasy-like experience. Many visitors imagine visiting a small tropical island paradise, and Mystery Island gives them exactly that,” Mrs Aru said.
She added that the destination’s popularity is also supported by strong community leadership and conservation efforts.
Mrs Aru said local communities and the Council of Chiefs on Mystery Island continue to put measures in place to protect conservation areas and ensure natural resources are not over-exploited.
Meanwhile, the Vanuatu Tourism Office has confirmed that tourism activity is expected to increase further, with more than 10 cruise ships scheduled to visit Mystery Island in January.
