Luganville Hosts Fundraising Concert to Buy Ultrasound Machines for Hospitals

A fundraising concert is taking place in Luganville today, Friday, 3 October 2025, to raise money for two Butterfly IQ3 ultrasound machines for Northern Provincial Hospital and Lolowai Hospital in Penama Province.

Each machine costs over one million Vatu and will strengthen medical services at both hospitals.

Member of Parliament for Luganville, Hon. Matai Seremaiah, told VBTC News that it’s important for the community to come and support the concert so the hospitals can receive the machines.

“The cost to get these two machines, one for Lolowai Hospital and the other for Northern Provincial Hospital, is over VT1 million. This concert is for Luganville and Sanma citizens to contribute, watch the show, and help our hospitals,” he said.

The three-hour concert will be held at Luganville Soccer City Stadium, with main band Vatururu performing alongside guest artist Reynold Herene.

“These are expensive pieces of equipment, and I can’t do it by myself, so everyone must come and support,” Seremaiah said.

Reynold Herene also urged people across Sanma Province to attend and contribute.

“If you are listening to me, you don’t know when you or your family might need this equipment. Everyone must come and support to help save lives,” he said.

MP Seremaiah confirmed that all proceeds from ticket sales will go directly toward purchasing the ultrasound machines. The concert is hosted by Hobyst Entertainment as part of a community support initiative.
