The Government has now paid 94% of teachers legal claims.
With an amount of One Billion, eight hundred and ninety one million, seven hundred and thirty five thousand, seven hundred and sixty three Vatu (VT1,891,735,763).
In a press statement issued today by the Ministry of education and training stated that the ministry has settled 94% of teachers legal claims under 14 different categories of the claims and the Teaching Service Comission has already informed individual teachers on the resolutions to grievances.
This statement is an update on teachers claims payments but also a response to Vanuatu Teachers Union Secretary General, Jonathan Yonah demanding the government to pay 100% of claims before teacher could resume classes.
