The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the major airport theft case could not proceed yesterday as investigations are not yet complete.

Prosecutor Tristan Garae informed  Senior Magistrate Kibeon Nimbwen yestreday that the prosecution is no ready to proceed with the case due to the delay.

Mr Garae told the court that police will complete the investigation soon, and Magistrate Nimbwen adjourned the matter to 11 February.

A total of eight suspects appeared in court yesterday morning in relation to the case.

Six of the suspects, who are on remand where escorted to court yesterday morning by officers from the Correctional Services, while two suspects are on bail.

Meanwhile, the suspects on remand will remain in custody until the next court sitting while the two suspects will continue to remain on bail under conditions.
