For seven long years, a young boy named Nicholson lived in silence and pain. His father, speaking on his behalf during a dinner event at Hotel Golden Port, recalled the heartbreak of watching his son suffer without answers.

“Nicholson can speak now, but not too loud,” his father said. “For years, I felt hopeless. I didn’t know what to do or if he would ever live a normal life again.”

After spending a year in India under the care of Medivisor India Treatment, Nicholson has made a significant recovery. He is now back in Vanuatu and currently attending Year 12 at Tebakor College, continuing his journey to full recovery.

His father expressed deep gratitude to the Medivisor team and encouraged other families who are unable to access treatment locally to consider seeking help through the program. “The staff in India are very helpful and treat everyone fairly and immediately. There is hope,” he said.

Nicholson’s story was one of several shared at Medivisor India Treatment’s one-year anniversary dinner on Thursday night, marking the establishment of their Vanuatu office. The event took place at Hotel Golden Port, where the office is also based.

Over the past year, Medivisor Vanuatu has facilitated travel and treatment for more than 200 patients from the Pacific region, and 80 patients from Vanuatu including those with cancer, brain disorders, kidney disease, and heart conditions.

The India-based medical travel company, which has operated internationally for ten years, offers end-to-end support for patients seeking medical care abroad, from visa assistance and hospital arrangements to accommodation and ticketing.
