PVCC Meeting Deferred Again as Legal Advice Sought on Motion to Remove Lady Mayor

The seating of the Port Vila City Council (PVCC) has been adjourned for the second time, with the meeting now rescheduled for 15 December 2025.

Following last Tuesday’s adjournment, today’s meeting was again unable to proceed because the motion to remove the Lady Mayor was not included on the official agenda.

The Lady Mayor adjourned the meeting for a further eight days to allow the Clerk’s Office time to seek legal advice on whether the motion to remove her should be placed on the agenda.

The motion against the Lady Mayor was submitted to the Clerk’s Office on 25 November 2025. Under the Council’s Standing Orders, a councillor wishing to have an item included on the agenda must submit it in writing to the Clerk at least eight days before the meeting date.

Although the motion was submitted on time and should have been listed on today’s agenda, it was not, leading to the adjournment.
