Gov’t to Develop Reward System for Vanuatu Athletes

The Council of Ministers has tasked the Ministry of Justice, Youth and Community Services to work on a reward framework for sportsmen who represent Vanuatu in different sports competitions.

Prime Minister Jotham Napat said that for a long time, many sportsmen have been lifting the name of Vanuatu in sports competitions, and he said that with the idea of this Reward Framework, it will apply to every sports discipline.

PM Napat:
“because I mandate the ministry that look after sports to develop a reward framework or system that will guide the government especially to those that did very well. We never have a policy like this. I think this is a good approach that the government wants to take so that when our athletes go through to like finals or anything or perform well then this will be like a guiding instrument on how to reward them. This rewarding system will apply across every discipline.”

This announcement was made during the Council of Ministers meeting that also approved the VT10 million for the football players.
