The Vanuatu Football Federation (VFF) is ready to kick off its VFF Men’s Champions League tournament starting this week.
The tournament will begin on the 11th of this month at the VFF Freshwota Stadium.
This competition, which will run for some time, brings together champion clubs from VFF’s member associations. These clubs have already arrived in Port Vila and are looking forward to the important tournament.
Port Vila is the host city and is well prepared to welcome the champion clubs as the tournament begins this week.
Last week saw the arrival of two champion clubs from the northern and southern parts of the country — M3 Football Club from the Tafea Football Association and Waterfall Football Club from the Torba Football Association — who are both ready for the tournament.
In a statement from the Vanuatu Football Federation microphone, M3 FC team captain Jeffrey Tes, who is also a former national representative, said they are looking forward to their first match this week.
“We need support. We represent Tafea. We are at Vila North.”
M3 FC will play their first match this week against Spirit FC from the Penama Football Association.
For Waterfall FC, the champion club from Torba FA, team manager John Fox said all their matches in this tournament will be very special.
“Torba fans in Port Vila, we have faced a lot of challenges during our preparations — we need your support.”
Malampa Revivors team captain, Dalong Damelip — a former Vanuatu national representative — said their matches in this tournament are hard to describe, but he is calling on all Malampa citizens in Port Vila to come and show their support.
Head coach of Malampa Revivors, Floyd Ravo, said their match this week is a chance to play good football and do their best, aiming to improve on their last VFF Champions League performance.
“We want to display good football, make people happy, and help remove stress from the recent earthquake in Port Vila last year. We also have new players and a new coaching team.”
The VFF Champions League competition will kick off this Wednesday, and a press conference with all coaches and team captains will take place tomorrow at the VFF Media Room.
The Vanuatu Football Federation has also announced ticket prices for fans:
