Public Embraces National Health Week Through Free Services and Awareness

The public has welcomed the Ministry of Health’s National Health Week, which concluded on Friday after five days of awareness, free services, and activities focused on healthy living.

Starting Monday, health professionals and partners across the country celebrated International Health Day through a weeklong program. The event provided vital health information and services to the public, emphasizing the importance of staying healthy and making informed choices.

Timothy Ian Pune, a member of the public, shared that Health Week offered a valuable opportunity for many to access free check-ups and knowledge.
“This week saw a lot of people coming to get free health services and more information. There were also many students visiting the health booths,” he said.

Students were among the most engaged, learning about healthy eating habits and how to avoid high-sugar foods.
“I learned a lot about the foods I eat at school—what to eat less of and what’s good for my health,” one student said.

Health professional Harriet Obed praised the initiative, saying it helped connect communities with essential services.
“This kind of activity should happen again. It promotes health and gives free services and information to the people,” she said.

The Health Week officially ended on Friday, with the Director General of the Ministry of Health closing the program.
