The Vanuatu government is actively moving forward with plans to establish a Labor Migration Council to address labor mobility challenges faced by its workers.
Currently, efforts are underway to select candidates both men and women to serve on this new council.
Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Andrew Napuat said that one of the topics he discussed during his recent trip to Australia last week is forming this council and addressing the situation of overseas workers disengaged from the labor mobility program.
Mr Napuat further explained that over 2,000 workers from Vanuatu who became disengaged and remain in Australia are being encouraged to return home.
