The Australian Navy ship HMAS Choules recently visited Port Vila, successfully delivering a donation of eight motorbikes and two buses to the Vanuatu Police Force. Following the handover, the vehicles were test-driven to assess their functionality and readiness for use.
The handing over event took place on Monday, where Col. Dave Silvers, the defense advisor to Vanuatu, highlighted the importance of this contribution in supporting police operations. He stated, “This donation is intended to help enhance the capabilities of the Vanuatu Police Force.”
Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Andrew Napuat, told VBTC News that the motorbikes included in the donation had previously been used by the police during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.
The Vanuatu Police Force plans to deploy the donated vehicles across Efate and other islands to improve their operational efficiency.
