Vanuatu’s rising track star, Claudie David, has written history at the Coca-Cola Games in Fiji this week.
Claudie became the first-ever athlete from Vanuatu to win the prestigious Blue Ribbon event—the Senior Girls 100-metre final—at the HFC Bank Stadium.
Representing Suva Grammar Storm, she clocked a winning time of 12.60 seconds to secure the gold medal in the highly anticipated sprint final.
Speaking to VBTC Sports last night, Claudie thanked the people of Vanuatu for their support and dedicated her gold medal to the nation.
“I want to say thank you to everyone back home. This gold is for Vanuatu,” she said.
The 2025 Coca-Cola Games mark the 50th edition of Fiji’s largest inter-school athletics competition. Claudie’s win not only celebrates her personal success but also highlights the rising potential of Vanuatu athletes on the regional stage.
