Air Vanuatu Resumes Ipota Flights After Two Years

Air Vanuatu has confirmed that the first flight to Ipota Airport will operate on Sundays, using a Twin Otter aircraft, with flights operating on the announced schedule.

VBTC News spoke with Erromango Area Administrator Joe Mete, who said people are happy to see Air Vanuatu services return to Ipota Airport.

The Vanuatu Tourism Office said the return of the service will allow people from Erromango to travel to Tanna for business and return on the same day.

Air Vanuatu said Ipota is the first of three southern ports where the airline is working to improve its domestic network.

Aniwa and Dillon’s Bay remain under assessment, with plans to restore services in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Air Vanuatu also said the frequency of flights to Ipota could increase if demand is strong.
