Japan has confirmed its commitment to repair the Tagabe Bridge, which was badly damaged during the 17 December 2024 earthquake.
Speaking at the official opening of the new Teouma Bridge this week, Japanese Ambassador to Vanuatu, H.E. Naohisa Okuda, reconfirmed the pledge.
“Japan has already discussed to fix the Tagabe Bridge that was badly damaged by the earthquake on December 17, 2024,” Ambassador Okuda said.
The repair project will further strengthen Japan’s partnership with Vanuatu in building resilient infrastructure following natural disasters.
