Vanuatu Sprinter Chloe David Sets Personal Best at World Athletics Championships in Tokyo

Vanuatu sprinter Chloe David achieved a personal best at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, delighting her father and coach, Jody David, who described the performance as a breakthrough moment for the young athlete.

Despite the tough competition, Chloe competed shoulder to shoulder with some of the world’s top female athletes, including reigning champion Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia. Her father said the experience was an important opportunity to showcase her talent and the results of her hard training.

“Chloe ran a very impressive race and clocked a personal best at the World Championships. She had the advantage of competing alongside world champions, which allowed her to showcase her talent and skills developed from her hard work,” said Jody David.

He added that Chloe’s achievement reflects the investment and support provided by her family, Athletics Vanuatu, VASANOC, and others who contributed to her development.

“Flying the flag for Vanuatu on an international stage is no easy task. Athletes go through a lot of training, both physically and mentally, and Chloe has shown dedication and determination to perform at this level.

We are all very proud of her performance.” Chloe herself said achieving a personal best at the Championships motivates her to continue working hard for future athletics competitions.
