Head Coach of the Vanuatu National U16 Academy, Alvaro Lopez of Spain, says the main focus for his players is preparation towards next year’s OFC U16 Championship not match results.

The National Academy side played an entertaining 3-3 draw last weekend against Maan Ksakes Football Club from Pango, in their third competitive fixture of the PVFA competition.

Coach Lopez said he is pleased with the team’s progress, highlighting the importance of building a strong and disciplined squad.

“Our objective is not about results, but about preparing a good squad for the OFC U16 Championship. The boys are improving, even our goalkeeper who is still very young. I’m happy with their commitment,” Lopez said.

He also praised his captain, Ala, describing him as a player with a strong mindset and leadership qualities.

The U16 Academy has now drawn all three of their PVFA matches 1-1 against Black Diamond, 2-2 against Sia Raga, and 3-3 against Maan Ksakes.
