The Government has confirmed that the first cruise ship since the December 2024 earthquake is scheduled to arrive in Port Vila on 8 August.

This follows ongoing discussions around port fees, which had raised questions about the confirmed arrival date. Despite these talks, the Government has clarified that the cruise industry remains a vital part of the economy and that it is committed to ensuring continued cruise visits into the future.

As part of preparations, a barge is being set up at the Seafront area for passengers to use during their visit. The cruise ship’s visit next Friday will be the first since the earthquake, and the Government has indicated that more cruise visits will follow in the weeks ahead.
