    Vanuatu Tourism Office CEO appointed as Chairperson of SPTO

    Vanuatu Tourism Office CEO, Ms Adela Issachar Aru has been appointed Chairperson of the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) at a meeting of the member countries last week in Nadi.

    This appointment comes at a critical time as the tourism industry across the Pacific works towards a sustainable future that benefits all. 

    “I am excited to work with all the SPTO Board and the CEO, Mr Chris Cooker to deliver on the outcomes of the organisations’ programs including the Pacific Sustainable Tourism Policy Framework, The Pacific Tourism Statistics Strategy, and the Digital Marketing Strategy.

    “SPTO has worked hard to set strategies and platforms to grow the tourism future of member countries and the ongoing relevance of the organization,” said Ms Aru following her appointment.

    “I look forward to working closely with SPTO’s key partners and stakeholders. Collaboration and forging robust partnerships is crucial to all our success.

    “I am deeply honored to accept the role of Chairperson of SPTO, and I firmly believe that by working together, we can unlock the full potential of the South Pacific region,” said Ms Aru.

    “Through this role, I also hope to lift the profile and work of Vanuatu and our tourism experiences. It is an exciting time to be part of the tourism industry in The Pacific.”

    Mr Viliami Takau, CEO of Tonga Tourism Ministry has been appointed Deputy Chairperson.

    The SPTO markets, promotes, and develops tourism in the Pacific in overseas markets with its main office in Suva, Fiji.
