The Ministry of Health has issued an update regarding a recent case of dengue fever in Vanuatu. According to the latest report covering December 28, 2024, to January 5, 2025, one individual was diagnosed with dengue fever on December 31, 2024, at Vila Central Hospital.

This case, which was locally acquired, has resulted in the patient being hospitalized and receiving treatment. The Ministry has clarified that this is an isolated incident and not an outbreak.
