In a brief ceremony on Thursday, 27th February 2025, the Telecommunications, Radiocommunications, and Broadcasting Regulator (TRBR), Mr. Brian Winji Molitaviti, signed and handed over Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation’s (VBTC) broadcast license to CEO Mr. Francis Herman.

VBTC, a key player in Vanuatu’s media industry, has been granted a 10-year license agreement by TRBR, allowing it to operate until 2035. This agreement enables VBTC to continue producing and transmitting content across various platforms within Vanuatu and internationally.

As the country’s only public broadcaster mandated by an Act of Parliament, VBTC plays a vital role in delivering nationwide radio and television services. Under this new license, VBTC is expected to uphold the Vanuatu Code of Practice for Broadcasters, ensuring that its programming remains balanced, informative, and aligned with national broadcasting standards.

Additionally, VBTC must comply with all technical and legal requirements outlined in the TRBR Act and other relevant laws of Vanuatu.
