The Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation (VBTC) is thrilled to announce that the world-renowned Soweto Gospel Choir will perform three concerts in Port Vila during the first week of April 2025.
Known for their powerful harmonies and uplifting performances, the 23-member choir from South Africa has captivated audiences worldwide with their unique blend of traditional African gospel, spirituals, reggae, and pop influences.

This special event comes at a time when Vanuatu is recovering from the December 17 earthquake. The local organizing committee believes that the choir’s messages of hope, redemption, and faith will bring comfort and healing to the nation.
“Vanuatu is going through a really tough time after the earthquake that caused loss of lives and damage to infrastructure. We believe that the beautiful voices of the Soweto Gospel Choir will help in the healing process,” said the organizing committee.
In addition to the concerts, the choir will hold workshops with local church choirs, offering an opportunity for cultural exchange and collaboration. Selected local choirs will also join the grand finale of each performance, making it an unforgettable experience for both performers and the audience.
The choir will arrive in Port Vila on March 30, immediately after their performance in Adelaide, Australia. After their Vanuatu tour, they will return to South Africa on April 06.
