Mr. Liu , a shared owner of Wong Garage, told VBTC News that they have signed a contract with Brunet last month to demolish the building. He said, “I’ve paid everything to the Municipality and the Government. The tools for demolition arrived today from New Zealand, and we’re ready to start on March 17.”
Many people have been seen removing valuable items from the garage in the past few weeks, causing even more concern. Security officers from nearby businesses, including Bred Bank and Low Price, have confirmed that the public is worried about the building’s safety.
When asked about the stolen items, Mr. Liu said, “I’m tired. I tried to stop them, and the police did too, but they threw rocks at us. Now, we just wait for the demolition to begin, and Wong Garage will be closed.”
Mr. Liu, has confirmed that the garage will be demolished on March 17, 2025. The garage, which includes a shop, a garage, and rooms for rent, has caused safety concerns due to frequent fires, heavy smoke, and the risk of an explosion from gas.
The fire started on February 28, 2025, around midday and has been burning off and on ever since. The latest fire was seen on Sunday. However, authorities have not yet explained how the fire started.
