Prime Minister Salwai discusses Financial Challenges with Ni-Vanuatu Students in Fiji

With rising living costs abroad, the Prime Minster urges timely and sufficient scholarship allowances for Vanuatu’s students.

Prime Minister Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas has highlighted the need for scholarship allowances to reflect the living costs in students host countries. During his recent visit to Laucala Campus in Fiji, he acknowledged students struggles with increased expenses due to COVID-19, especially since their allowances have not adjusted to the rising cost of living.

“The government must ensure students receive their allowances on time. Delays not only cause difficulties with covering daily expenses but can also lead to issues with landlords if payments aren’t received promptly”.
