The National Youth Convention of the Presbyterian Church will be held in Northwest Santo this May.

Youth Coordinator for the Presbyterian Church, Elder Josaiah Iwai, said the purpose of the convention is to bring young people together.

“One good thing about this is that we aim to find out how the young people can be trained in decision-making. During the Convention, as an administrator, I will compile all the reports and present them to the Assembly Executives so that the broader Church Assembly can hear what the young people have decided and offer support for their decisions,” Elder Iwai explained.

The convention will be hosted by the village of Laura.

“There will be around 600 to 800 young people expected to gather at that time. This will be the second time an annual event like this will take place in a remote area like Laura,” he added.

Elder Iwai also confirmed there will be a range of activities for the youth throughout the event, scheduled from May 11 to May 16.
