Government, through the Ministry of Education, has completed final payments on long-standing claims for more than 3,000 teachers — amounting to a total of 1,200,070,000 VT.
In a press release issued on Monday, 16 June, Director General of Education, Iati Bergmans, confirmed that 3,093 teachers received payments for claims lodged between 2010 and 2025.
“This payout reflects the government’s commitment to honouring the legal entitlements of our teachers who have waited patiently for years,” Bergmans stated.
He explained that the payments are based on verified legal claims submitted over the past 15 years. The Ministry is now continuing work to finalise remaining valid claims still under assessment
