Unemployment in Vanuatu is going up, and local business owner Adam Lopez says starting more kinds of businesses can help fix the problem.

“When we have too many of the same kind of business, it doesn’t help,” he said. “But when we start different kinds of businesses, we share the money around. You give me a service or product, I pay you. That’s how we create more jobs.”

Studies show that when many people don’t have jobs, it can cause big problems like a weak economy and social issues. Lopez believes that helping people start small and different businesses is one good way to support families and grow the country.
